Marg Barry Lecture 2011

Please find attached the invitation to the Marg Barry Lecture for 2011. This year Inner Sydney Regional Council has combined the lecture with its photographic social history project. We have over 30 years of photos and slides that are soon to be archived by the City of Sydney. We are going to exhibit the photos in the hope that some of you remember the places and faces in them , so the content can be identified before archiving.

Whether you have been around the social and community development scene in Inner Sydney for years or are newly arrived, you are welcome to join us for the lecture and the exhibition on Friday 7th October 5pm at Redfern Townhall. Please RSVP to Holly.Miller@innersydneyrcsd.org.au or call 9698 7690.

Redwater Markets and Planning Expo

On Saturday 20 August come and meet us at Redfern Park.

To kick off the community engagement for the Preliminary Master planning Project, we are having an event at the RedWater Markets.  We are calling it a “Planning Expo”.

The Expo will be fun with great activities designed to encourage everyone to imagine how a master plan for the area could contribute to better place to live.

There will be the usual fun of the Markets: entertainment, kids activities, things to look at and buy.

Plus extra fun with information and activities about planning for the area – and a free sausage sizzle for Expo participants. There is a free loop bus service around Redfern and Waterloo to take residents to Redfern Park and back home.

You can also find out more about other upcoming activities.

The attached invitation is being distributed and letter boxed in the area by Oddjobbers to local residents. The attached poster is being distributed by Martin Clark to local agencies, associations and business owners.

Reps, agencies and associations, please inform your members and clients. Call Tuyen on 9268 3492 or email us if you want extra copies of the attached flyers or posters or further information on how to get involved.

Come along, bring your friends and neighbours, share your ideas for the future of your place and have a great day at the RedWater Markets!
